It’s funny how we’re all trying to reduce the budget for for a few thousand dollars for some one who has already proven herself with her work added value without any specific compensation. Jupiter just paid out 700 million to people who use Jupiter. I’d repeat people who just use Jupiter and we have here some one whose working on the core of the brand and we have reservations just over a 1000 dollars or two ! I dont think it’s nearly reasonable I vote in favour of the proposal and I expect our team to have open hearts towards people working towards the betterment of the community !

Can you clarify if all four team members will be working on a full-time basis on this initiative during the full trial period? It is not clear from the proposal if this is the case. Thanks

This has been clarified, the initial ask included a 1 month stopgap budget but that wasn’t clear in the graphics — hence “draft” proposal.
The average is $3,750 per member.

This is inaccurate. The average graphic designer salary in Germany is €40-43k. $3.5k/month, very close to this ask.
Additionally, this team is MUCH more qualified than just a basic graphic designers despite being paid like graphic designers. Illustrators like make more, UI/UX designers make much, much more, and animators like Joice typically make 3-5x this budget request.
Their ask is reasonable, and in my opinion, too low.
This work group didn’t make that very dumb clipping mask cat logo that causes me much pain. We pushed back very hard on the logo vote — and actually pitched a design competition. This is actually a very good reason as to why we need a design team: the cat logo is very mid.
That’s fine, but you’re disagreeing with the Jupiter team here, not this work group. They specifically asked Adedamola to redesign it. Just as I asked her to redesign my designs for Jup.Eco. It was part of her first grant scope.
The lack of design consistency is the reason this group needs to exist.

Totally not, I studied media informatics in Germany, which has some overlaps to “design” which is called communication design in this case.
I know several people working in this Area. It’s 2k gross / 1,3k net at the start. And it wont ever raise except you’re a top freelancer or prove so good that you can work for BMW (or similar) and earn a whopping 3k/month gross. This is 100% accurate.
Edit: For clarification, I don’t say that this is a fair wage nor do I propose that this WG cuts their monthly salary as low as $2.1k/month on average. These are just numbers / facts meant for comparison.
Also, as I mentioned these are full-time wages. These jobs do not allow side jobs. So one question that raises is: will they work full-time on this project or not? Hence this is a tough budget request. Their introduction sounds like they have, and will continue to have, a lot of side projects. Maybe I’m wrong though.
Edit2: Also they might intend to work more than full-time (which is capped at 48hrs/week in Germany, but usually 40-42h/week - except for freelancers) like some members of the CAWG obviously do (just a guess, but they push up to 16h/day, 7days a week - relentless). This would justify way higher wages of course.
Edit3: After learning this First DAO Funding, I think the DAO has plenty reserves for now to reward committed Teams generously - very generously even - for them to be motivated to push harder and explore their limits of creativity. And also to attract more talent into the DAO (new WGs). If they succeed this is quite a leap for the project, marketing is key to quite a lot of things afaik.
Anyways, for success quality standards must be set and met. If they made jup.eco that’s a big plus.

I totally agree, and I also expect this Group to be capable of doing so. Maybe they can clarify how they plan to “streamline” designs and create consistency because their proof of work so far (even if it is great stuff!) doesn’t explain this, nor does this proposal.

I’m voting yes. It’s a clear yes. We need to encourage people to step forward to grow the DAO and to grow the Jupiverse. We are incredibly lucky that not only have this team decided to do just that, but they happen to also be incredibly talented. We are very lucky to have been given the option of their time. IMO it would be a significant step backwards for us if we don’t give opportunity to talented people to grow the DAO; grow the Jupiverse.
It’s a trial. If anyone has concerns I’d say let’s see what happens during the trial. That’s literally what a trial is for!

People forget the importance of consistency and scalability when they read or hear about design. The budget is more than appropriate for the ask, and it’s not like they’re not proven themselves before already.

So just clarfying:
if there are 3 full time members and one part time member, what is the monthly salary of a FT person and a PT person @adedamolajoke
this can mislead a lot of people if not explained properly.
Its important to update the proposal so people know this as its a hidden fact

Tbh, this not just about design inconsistency..it’s all bout getting work done faster.
The DAWG makes work faster cos the time an individual would use to brain storm on an idea, DAWG will get it done faster.
Me personally it has saved me hours of brainstorming, plus their response time too shouldn’t be overlooked…
Can’t wait to see how well they will perform during this period

Out of curiosity, how can the lack of personal income info mislead people? The DAO knows how much it is to spend on the Trial Working Group, it is also provided with the goals that the TWG aims to achieve. Why knowing how much each individual member will receive is important to you? I’m probably missing something, so would appreciate it being explained to me.

I feel its important. As it can be misleading presuming that each person is get $3750 per month each.
For example if this vote passes, and a new budget is proposed, what if that PT person goes to full time and suddenly the salary is 5k usdc per month. this would raise a few questions and confuse people i feel.

“Average monthly wage” does not mean that each person is getting $3,750/mo.
The budget is not infinite, if one person starts getting more, another person will start getting less. Thus keeping the average at the same $3,750 level.
Confuse people how exactly?
