Proposal: XJup: The Next-Gen Web3 Payment and Rewards V1.0

DAO Proposal: XJup — The Next-Gen Web3 Payment and Rewards

Hello, Jupiter Team, and DAO Members,

Below I share my project, for enhancing the integration of crypto payments in the real world and boosting the adoption of JUP within daily life.

XJup is a mobile app and physical/virtual card designed to make direct cryptocurrency payments (JUP, SOL, USDC) seamless in both physical and online stores.

It features automatic swaps via the Jupiter Aggregator and integration with Visa/Mastercard, allowing users to pay with crypto as easily as with fiat.

Beyond payments, XJup combines cashback, gamification, NFTs, and AI-driven financial management to deliver a complete and engaging user experience, all with a strong focus on security, compliance, and mainstream usability.

XJup’s mission is to bridge the gap between Web3 and everyday life, making crypto accessible to everyone and driving global adoption through innovation and simplicity.

This project forms part of a broader strategic initiative to strengthen the Jupiter ecosystem’s infrastructure and adoption channels, ensuring long-term sustainability and value creation. It is directly connected to the Validator Network and Yield Strategy project detailed in the attached proposal.

Project Objectives

  • Make crypto payments simple, fast, and secure, offering users an intuitive experience with smooth interfaces and frictionless processes, removing technical barriers and ensuring that anyone — even without technical knowledge, can use crypto for everyday purchases.

  • Offer automatic swap at the point of sale, ensuring the instant conversion of tokens to stablecoins at the best available rates, optimized by Jupiter Aggregator, enabling fast payments without financial loss to the user.

  • Integrate Visa/Mastercard, NFC, Apple/Google Pay, allowing the crypto card to work like any traditional card, including contactless payments, digital wallets, and global compatibility, ensuring broad acceptance across thousands of JupiPoints of sale.

  • Create incentives with points (JupiPoints), cashback, and NFTs, including loyalty programs with tiers, weekly challenges, exclusive rewards, and point staking, to maximize engagement, customer retention, and community participation. These gamification elements will be rolled out progressively, with careful user feedback collection and ongoing market research to ensure alignment with mainstream user expectations and avoid overwhelming non-crypto-savvy audiences.

  • In the future, potentially expand globally and multichain, extending coverage to multiple blockchains (ETH, AVAX, BNB), possibly using bridges like Wormhole and deBridge, and adapting to international markets with local stablecoins (EURC, cREAL, MXN-backed), enabling sustainable scalability and worldwide adoption.

Additional Strategic Focus

  • Target audiences: crypto-savvy users, mainstream consumers, and merchants, creating a solution that bridges Web3 with real-world needs.

  • Regulatory and compliance approach: The project will adopt a proactive approach to international regulatory compliance, implementing localized KYC/AML programs and partnering with local legal firms. Rather than targeting complex licensing regimes in the U.S., EU, or LATAM initially, XJup will prioritize launching in crypto-friendly jurisdictions and working with established partners that already hold the required licenses for card issuing and payment processing. This phased approach will allow the project to validate its model, adapt to market demands, and gradually expand into more regulated regions as operational capacity and legal resources grow.

  • Strategic partnerships: build collaborations with exchanges, liquidity providers, merchant networks, and fintech platforms to accelerate market reach.

  • As part of the growth plan, key strategic partnerships have already been identified to maximize adoption and accelerate market entry. Priority targets include fintechs such as Stripe and Marqeta (for card issuance), as well as merchant networks like Shopify and Web3 marketplaces. The team will also pursue integrations with liquidity providers and cross-chain bridges, including Wormhole and deBridge, to ensure seamless multichain operations. These alliances will strengthen the XJup ecosystem and rapidly expand product reach, leveraging the project’s own liquidity pools without reliance on external exchanges.

  • Long-term vision: position XJup as a leading global Web3 payment solution and a driver of crypto adoption in everyday life.

Detailed Features

  • Native Solana wallet (SPL tokens): allows users to store, send, and receive JUP, SOL, USDC, and other Solana tokens directly in the app, with intuitive balance display, on-chain transaction history, and multi-address support.

  • Physical/virtual card with Visa/Mastercard integration, issued by partners like Stripe or Marqeta, with options for NFC payments, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, plus instant lock/unlock, adjustable limits, and dynamic balance source selection (crypto or fiat).
The specific top-up methods for the card, including crypto deposits, stablecoin loading, and fiat on-ramps, will be defined during the development phase. This approach ensures regulatory compliance, user convenience, and seamless integration with partner systems.

  • Optimized swaps via Jupiter Aggregator, automatically identifying the best liquidity routes, calculating real-time slippage, and ensuring efficient token conversion at checkout, including fee and outcome previews for the user.

  • Points system: tiers, challenges, NFTs, with user levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold), progressive cashback, weekly challenges like ‘spend €10 in crypto,’ collectible NFTs with practical benefits (discounts, boosts), and point staking for extra rewards.
To ensure high user retention and minimize churn after the initial adoption phase, XJup will implement strategies such as personalized rewards, re-engagement campaigns, progressive challenges with increasing benefits, and continuous improvements to the loyalty program. Periodic user satisfaction surveys and iterative app enhancements will also help maintain high levels of engagement.

  • AI-powered subscription and budgeting management, featuring automatic expense categorization (streaming, food, transport), personalized budget limit alerts, financial performance reports, and integration for automatic cancellation of unwanted services.

  • Robust security: MPC, KYC/AML, Panic Mode, including multi-party computation wallets to reduce theft risk, integrated identity verification via Sumsub/Onfido, AI-driven behavioral analysis for fraud detection, and a ‘Panic Mode’ activated by gesture or keyword for immediate account lock.

Additional Suggested Features

  • Merchant tools: POS integration, merchant rewards, and flexible settlement options in crypto or fiat to boost merchant adoption.

  • Community features: in-app governance, user voting on platform updates, and referral programs to strengthen community engagement.

  • User analytics dashboard: advanced insights into spending habits, portfolio performance, and real-time token price tracking to empower users with better financial decisions.

Total Team Project Cost: €672,975

Project Funding Clarification

The total project cost of €672,975 primarily covers the core team, including development, product, marketing, compliance, and business development over the 24-month roadmap.

The full investment request of €1.17M includes these core costs plus additional expenses — such as infrastructure (cloud services, servers, testing hardware), the infrastructure team (sysadmin/cloud engineers, technical support), marketing initiatives, legal and regulatory requirements, scaling reserves, and external security audits (€40,000–€60,000).
While this funding structure provides a strong initial foundation, the XJup team acknowledges that additional capital may be required as the project scales, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, security audits, customer support, and regulatory adaptation. A continuous fundraising and risk assessment strategy will be implemented to ensure financial resilience and the ability to address unforeseen demands.

JUP Distribution and Vesting Overview

  • Cliff: 6 months for all team members, starting from the date their tokens are allocated (since not all team members join at the same time)
  • Linear Unlock: proportional monthly unlocking after the cliff period

Example:
Backend Developer → 180,000 JUP total, 7,500/month, 22,500/quarter
This means the Backend Developer will unlock 7,500 JUP per month after the 6-month cliff, adding up to 22,500 JUP per quarter, until completing the 24-month vesting period.

  • The total amount of JUP tokens allocated to each team member will be deposited into the smart contract immediately upon the team member’s official onboarding/start date. These tokens will remain fully locked under the 6-month cliff and linear unlock schedule, and are subject to the Early Exit Rule. This approach ensures full transparency, alignment with the vesting plan, and builds confidence for both the team and investors.

Early Exit Rule:

  • If a team member leaves before the cliff, they forfeit all allocated tokens.
  • If they leave after the cliff, they retain tokens vested up to that point; unvested tokens are returned to the project pool.

Competitive Analysis

A competitive assessment has been conducted to highlight XJup’s key differentiators compared to solutions like Crypto.com Card, Binance Card, and Nexo Card. Notable advantages include:

  • Automatic swaps optimized by the Jupiter Aggregator
  • Gamified rewards program with utility NFTs
  • AI-powered financial management tools
  • Attractive card usage rewards, including cashback and JupiPoints
  • Loyalty program with tiers, challenges, and point staking
  • Initial focus on the Solana network as the main chain, leveraging its speed, low fees, and integration with the Jupiter Aggregator, with planned expansion to other networks
  • Planned multichain expansion to Ethereum, Avalanche, and BNB
  • Strong security framework with MPC wallets, KYC/AML compliance, and Panic Mode for account protection

This analysis reinforces XJup’s positioning as an innovative leader in the global Web3 payments space, offering a comprehensive and user-friendly solution that bridges crypto and everyday life.

Smart Contract System (Design + Implementation)

The smart contract system ensures the vesting process is automated, transparent, and secure.

Key functions:

  • allocate(address, amount) → Assigns tokens to each beneficiary
  • getVestedAmount(address, time) → Calculates unlocked tokens over time (factoring in cliff and linear unlock)
  • claim() → Allows beneficiaries to withdraw unlocked tokens
  • revoke(address) → Enables the admin to cancel unvested tokens, especially if a member exits early

Administrative controls:

  • The admin can execute revoke(address) to cancel remaining JUP, including cliff portions if the member leaves early.
  • Revoked tokens automatically return to the project’s token pool.

On-chain events:

  • The contract emits events such as Allocated, Claimed, and VestingRevoked for real-time tracking, public auditing, and accountability.

Audit and Security:

  • All smart contracts will undergo external audits by top-tier blockchain security firms prior to deployment.
Additionally, XJup will implement periodic re-audits for major updates, conduct internal security reviews, and establish a bug bounty program to encourage continuous vulnerability testing by the broader developer community.
This multi-layered approach aims to guarantee maximum safety, trust, and full on-chain transparency.

Smart Contract Implementation on Solana

  • Initial Allocation: The full JUP amount per member is locked into the vesting smart contract at project launch.
  • Programming Logic:
    :white_small_square: block.timestamp < cliff_time → no claims allowed
:white_small_square: After the cliff → proportional monthly release based on the vesting schedule

JUP Token Allocation Summary

The updated allocation table defines clear rules for distributing JUP tokens across team members:

  • 6-month fixed cliff for all roles
  • Gradual linear unlock after the cliff, even if the member has left the project (up to vested amount)
  • Strict enforcement via audited smart contracts

Final Notes for Investors and Team

This vesting system guarantees:

  • Fair, predictable compensation for team members
  • Alignment with project milestones and roadmap
  • Strong investor protection through automated on-chain enforcement
  • Maximum transparency via public audit trails

Key impact areas:

  • Decentralization & Security: Expands the JUP validator network to enhance trust, reliability, and resilience across the ecosystem.
  • Sustainable treasury growth: Generates staking rewards and transaction fees that feed back into the DAO’s treasury for future initiatives.
  • Community empowerment: Enables transparent, open delegation and fosters deeper DAO governance participation.
  • Cross-chain vision: Lays the groundwork for future expansion to multichain validation (ETH, AVAX, BNB), positioning Jupiter DAO as a leader in Web3 infrastructure.

This proposal delivers a strategic, long-term boost to the ecosystem’s security, scalability, and financial sustainability, ensuring that the Jupiter DAO evolves into a self-sufficient and resilient organization over the coming years.
