Background

In the fast-expanding of Solana and DeFi, Jupiter Exchange is a leading Decentralized Aggregator Exchange on Solana blockchain, It powers majority of token swaps and routing on Solana blockchain. $JUP is the native asset of Jupiter Exchange. $JUP wasn’t just a governance token ,it became a symbol of belonging. A symbol that someone had crossed into the Jupiverse, where Catdets, Cats of culture, DeFi explorers, and great mind coexisted. As new users join and the culture of Jupiverse continues to grow, one thing becomes clear, it’s not just about trading tokens, it’s about connection and one thing remain the same: The way we send $JUP( TRANSACTIONAL ONLY.)

WHAT IF SENDING $JUP CAN TAKE NEW TURN?

That’s where inception of JupCard comes in.

JupCard was born from this idea. Inspired by the personal nature of gifting, greeting, and goodwill, JupCard aims to fill the emotional and social gap in token interactions.
$JUP is a gift, let make sending $JUP a gift-like case. Jupcard; designed with love for jupiverse, enable token gifting that feels human. Users create a card, write a message, choose a designed Jupcard-themed template (or upload their own art or image) and send as an act of love to others.

Identifying the Gap

While Jupiter Exchange excels in trade execution, liquidity routing, and product innovation, there’s currently no feature that allows users to personalize the experience of sending $JUP. Token transfers today are majorly transactional. JupCard bridges this gap,It gives users the ability to send tokens wrapped in emotions: celebrations, welcome messages, or words of encouragement.

Picture this:

• It’s someone’s birthday in the DAO, Friend group or even workplace. You chip in $JUP to send to the person and a celebratory card is accompanied with the gift($JUP token) filled with moments and well-wishes texts.

• You just introduced your friend to Jupiverse and Jupiter, you want to welcome them to the jupiverse and JUPCARD let you do that in style, giving them warm welcoming by sending $JUP and a “welcome to jupiverse” heartfelt message.

WHY JUPCARD?

JUPCARD allows users to :

• Wrap $JUP in a designed-custom card
• Attach heartfelt messages and images
• Make sending of $JUP fun and viral by allowing recipient to save and share their customized JUPCARD to socials.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

• Choose a Jup-themed template or upload your own image
• Add a heartfelt message like “welcome to jupiverse, Happy Birthday, Appreciating you for getting the task done”etc.
• Enter recipient’s email and send
• Recipient gets an email to open their card and claim the JUP see and read the personalized card and heartfelt message respectively and share the customized card.

Voila , $JUP SENT and CLAIMED in style.

What We Executed So Far

• Designed mobile and desktop wireframes for the full JupCard experience.

What we Learnt

When talking with Jupiter community members, moderators, Core Working Group we deduced that:

• People love the idea of emotional token transfers.
• There’s strong interest in “gifting $JUP” for onboarding or recognition.
• The branding and card design resonate with catdets and DeFi adpopters.

Our goal

Our goal is to take Jupcard from a JUST proposed idea, a working designed final mockup/prototype and a developed mockup to a polished, fully functional web app interface that integrates will smoothly into Jupiter’s ecosystem and aligned with Jupiter goals for present and present cause.

This is a great proposal idea and concept, to which it has the potential to grow, in terms of differing ‘types’ of gifts aswell as crypto. Given its powerful (and multichain) potential, I would hope that further to Jupiter supporting the design of Jupcard, that should it take off commercially, that those that were actively involved in its formation, receive even a tiny .00x something of the revenues. For some reason, it made me think of the actors in the original Star Wars series. Sadly, they opted for the ‘cash up front’ option rather than ‘less cash but a % of the copyright’ (or in this case, the IPR). We know what proceeded then, with the T-shirts, the dolls, the toys, the posters, the (everything). So, that’s something to bake the noodle to sort out. TLDR: super idea, fully endorse it.
