Decentralisation is the abundance of leaders, not the absence of them

while it is tempting to have a single point of decision making, it’s way, way more fun to do it all together as a J.U.P community, even if it looks like painful haggling at times.

these early votes and debate might look relatively trivial, but they are extremely important as training wheels, trust earning, public leadership and joint learning for the entire community. In addition, they are important for the same reason why a supreme court decision is important - precedence for future instances.

also, if a team cannot get public buy in for a 50k budget - how are they going to help to rally and fight when shit hits the roof?

the dao is just a piece of software, it is the community that is behind it that counts, and we are in the very early stages of forming a community that knows each other well enough, has sufficient trust in each other, and has shown an ability to overcome shit together.

99.99999% of all daos fail because they think the polling machine is more important than the entire machinery that goes into education, activating, debating and fucking up together.

i cannot overstate how important it is that more and more community leaders emerge to represent Jupiter in different ways - and they, like myself, have to earn that right/trust via raw investment in time, energy, blood and tears*

and that’s the way it should be. when working in public - it is crucially important that the entire process was observed and learnt by everyone - that’s how the entire learning cycle propagates and why i chose to give the previous feedback as publicly as i did.

PPP is not easy, given that the default state that we have towards anyone requesting anything is suspicion and doubt - it takes a ton of trust in each other to pull off a true PPP environment, even within the community.

so yes, it is my dream and hope that we have hundreds (if not thousands) leaders trusted by the community that are able to showcase and highlight the wonderful people, product and philosophies we have here at Jup.

and the only way they get that trust?

sweat, blood and tears.

in public.

*tears: haha, got you there, cats don’t cry

You’re a great critical thinker, possessing ability to manage people and listens to community opinions, contributions is top-notch.
Keep it up :+1:. Decentralised have given more freedom, power to the people to centralised system.

Love the sentiment.

Sweat, blood, and tears in public make one a great leader. This PPP philosophy is bullish and I’m in awe of how Meow and Jupiter are changing the meta on Solana and in crypto in general. Don’t be someone who just goes through the motions in life! Don’t be an NPC! Cats certainly aren’t!

There are PROs and CON’s whether having centralization or decentralization and based on my experience to have the absolute of any of those structures it could be dangerous for the projects longevity.

I will always be in the favor that DAO should not be voting in terms of project funding’s, spending, organizational changes until the DAO is not directly affected by it. Today DAO voters gets their share via ASR no matter what votes they give - whether it pushes the project further or backwards.

Once DAO will be directly affected by every decision, meaning it will impact every DAO member by what decision was taken jointly then i would say - now you can as well part-take in fundamental voting (especially related to investments, spending, key organizational changes). Hereby DAO members will as well be more thoughtful about their decision and care more. We can’t say that to be true today.

It is not easy to build a total PPP community for the simple fact that human beings are built and designed to benefit from others for their own benefit. Currently I think we are achieving it, I don’t see any fear in 90% of the members of JUP. As CATDETS I have to say that since you are given the opportunity to contribute and help others, your visions and mentality change. Thanks to the Jupiter community my perspective of the real world (PVP) is increasingly PPP. I do not consider that we have to have a specific leader but rather many people in whom we can fully trust, if this is achieved within our community…there will be nothing that will stop us. I am happy and proud to really belong to A REAL COMMUNITY. :green_heart:

Just refreshing as I didn’t think this deep about the relationship between leadership & decentralisation. We just learn everyday in here especially from the essay expert, @meow🙏🏿
