Could slippage disappear?

Soju had a great recap at Catstanbul about RTSE. Is it possible to reduce slippage to a nominal number that it eventually disappears?

What is slippage?

Slippage is the difference in price from Jupiter’s UI and what you actually receive in your wallet.

Jupiter has experimented and used auto slippage and most recently dynamic slippage.

➔ Auto slippage is defined at quote.

➔ Dynamic slippage is assumed when you actually press the swap button, to reduce the time from quote to swap.

What is RTSE?

RTSE uses real time price volatility, heuristics, and swap success rate.

It’s REAL time, REAL volume, and REAL trades.

How do you get access to the best swap experience?

RTSE will hopefully make slippage a thing of the past. You can access RTSE through Ultra Mode. Some nominal fees apply, for the best swap service on Solana (this is still MUCH cheaper than competitors).

If Slippy is successfully implemented this Jupiter ultra system will earn so many fees

Slippage fks A lot of us over and Jupiter is leading the way in making swaps optimal

Great that Jupiter is working on reducing / doing away with slippage costs, but just comparing it to the cost of doing transactions on Eth not only reduces fees a lot but slippage is usually very low already. Unless you buy a coin with low liquidity. Will this be the case for low liquidity coins?

The less the slippage, the better DEX get and the closer it comes to becoming a better option to CEX even for beginners to crypto.

Yeah could be a fk for real, especially for beginners that do not understand how slippage works or ensuring the percentage is lowest before finalizing the trade and only discovered they got less than they saw in the UI after trade finalized.
Always very dissapointing IMO!

best slippage doesnt mean there is no slippage.
You are just going to get the best one.

In cases with low liquitidy coins; slippage can still be 5-10% for example, if thats the best

Ah got it was wondering about that. Seemed impossible to me and was wondering if Jupiter had found a way to upgrade automated market makers somehow.

You should see slippage on uniswap…i used it a couple times and at a peak time the slippage for a transaction was $25…RTSE is a genius move to make sure you get the best price. This is a way of keeping the consumer happy with low prices and best trade while still getting fee attached…

This is a really informative post, thank you for the concise explanation on!
In my experience Jup already has much better slippage rates on swaps (and faster transaction speeds, if approved) than other DEX’s, and RTSE sounds like an incredibly innovative idea. Bravo to the Jup team for constantly implementing new features that make them stand out, onboarding more users and revenue.

I think the swap tool from Jupiter is not only the best but also the starting point of experiencing DEX at its best! Cool!

I struggle to see how we will have no slippage in a DEX. Best we can think of is how low it can be as it sucks sometimes.
