Objective:
Introduce a native liquid staking module that allows DAO members to use staked JUP as collateral without needing to unstake, leave the ecosystem, or forfeit governance rights. In short — give utility where it matters most.
Background:
Rain.fi currently offers a service for liquid staking JUP: users stake their JUP, receive non-transferable stJUP (retaining ASR + voting rights), and can borrow against it — unlocking liquidity without unstaking. While this is a promising workaround, it also highlights a deeper issue: DAO members are migrating off-platform just to access meaningful utility.
That’s a red flag.
It shows a clear demand: People want to use their JUP for more than votes and vibes. They want real functionality. Real value. And they’re not waiting around for it to show up natively.
Proposal:
Build a native liquid staking module inside Jupiter, which:
- Lets users stake JUP and mint a native derivative (e.g. stJUP or jupLSD).
- Preserves all DAO governance and ASR eligibility.
- Allows this derivative token to be used as collateral for borrowing assets like USDC.
- Stays fully within the Jupiter UI and ecosystem — no need to go to Rain.fi or elsewhere.
Why It Matters:
- Security & Trust: Keep users within Jupiter’s trusted environment.
- Utility & Retention: Reduce the need for stakers to seek value off-platform.
- Ecosystem Alignment: Give JUP actual use cases — not just slogans.
- DAO Empowerment: Let members unlock value from long-term conviction without walking away from their votes.
The Quiet Question:
Given the current DAO Resolution being voted on — can this even be proposed through the DAO? Or does it fall outside the DAO’s scope, since the resolution emphasizes that token utility, product decisions, and protocol-level integrations remain with the team?
If that’s the case, then let’s be honest: DAO members will keep seeking utility elsewhere — and we’re just exporting community value bit by bit.

People are moving to Rain.fi for a reason. Let’s bring them back — not just with words, but with tools that make Jupiter the place where utility lives.
