This is a well thought proposal, and i look forward to see what the CAWG have to say about it.
Being a merit role as the catdet and cat of culture can it be, a flexibility of recognising those who deserved it should also be taken into consideration, as Meow always say “no cat should be left out”.

I think some more structure could do us CoC’s well, but don’t want it to get too structured is the concern, it takes away some of the organic nature as mentioned by Cas.

My proposal would be to have a monthly sentiment check, where current CoC’s nominate a few catdets and give their reasoning, because I think everyone has an idea of a few they feel could benefit to be added as a CoC.

And since no CoC is available 24/7 it will also allow us to democratize the recruitment process a bit and allow us to shine a light on catdets that other CoC’s might not inherently see or notice as much.

Having this little bit of structure and a reason for activation or participation for CoC’s, I think will actually add to the organic conversations about the process because it will be more present on all of our minds.

This sentiment check can be a good way to streamline the nomination process and if there’s a name on like 70% of people’s nominations, then we can see oh wow yeah, how are they not a CoC yet. Or be able to recognize up and coming catdets to keep an eye out for.

At the end of the day, it’s up to the CAWG, maybe it’s something they want to try out async and see how it goes before setting up something monthly or whatever.

I love it that you don’t want this process to be on favouritism decision but to follow the right path. I will look forward to seeing how this will play out , and I know all hands will be on deck to make the process fair for those that duly deserves it.

If this is done by CATDET, I’m very sure there will be favouritsm, but if this process is finalised by representative of CAWG even though if the CoC role holder are allowed to make nomination and also provide genuine reason that is glaring to the community where no bias is put in place , I’m very sure , right outcome will be provided.

Even if the Cat of culture role holder are included in nominations, the nominee will be scrutinized by CAWG and still bring out final result
Someone may have lot of nominations based on familiarity and still don’t worth the role.
So I will not want it to be judged based on percentage of CoC that nominate a catdet, but check the reason why such catdet is nominated ,check if it is genuine and if it worth the role.

There was a note posted in today planitary call that they are “gonna review the process”.

Hopefully there is clear criteria or selection process from now on.

I do still believe it should be exclusive.

Will be nice to introduce the ‘CAT OF CULTURE BADGE’ in the DAO. Know there are various DAO badges to recognise contributions but wouldn’t it be nice to consider integrating this in other Jup platforms like the DAO, Jup on X, Reddit etc to reward those doing similar things with same level of recognition? Just suggesting🤷🏿‍♂️

This will likely not possible;
Discord houses major event on Jupiter , even twitter peeps is less informed the way discord peeps are.
I will call the discord server THE MITOCHONDRIA- the power house.
Anyone that show any value on any other social media can be recognised on discord.
And I think majority of people on Reddit, twitter etc. are also on discord.
The value been shown on those media are brought forward down to discord
