Does anyone know if POAP NFT’s have been permanently discontinued? or will it be back again in the future planetary calls?

Yes they mentioned at the call there won’t be anymore due to “confusing surrounding them”

So many people bought them on secondary market thinking they were gonna get a bigger airdrop.

Well, I would argue that that is the wrong decision. Although I understand the hassle that the team would have to go through in order to see what POAP was airdropped and what were bought, I don’t really see a reason why they wouldn’t count them in any point of the future Airdrops. It just feels good to have a small/big personal collection of the NFTs that show the dedication and consistency from peeps that continuously show up on the Planetary calls. Hopefully the team will see through this one. If not, RIP POAP`s, you will be missed.

No point in given POAP out without any fundamental usefulness. Discontinuous is okay!

It looks like there will be nothing attached to them. However, I do think they are a good way to measure user activity.

i see this NFTs as a personal thing- collection. I try to get one after i attended a talk but i didn’t manage. So i bought one to have something to remember.
For ex. i have all except the first one from Solid Talks. But its a POAP :sunglasses:so what the use if you didnt attended ? :grin:

I think the name
PROOF OF ACTAUL ATTEND AND PARTICIPATION - gives the idea that proof was required for jupuary

That’s why they removed it

removing that was good, but why not keep the NFT so the participants can collect them and show to others that you have been there since the first year?

yes,

I thought in a similar way,

not really for the tradable NFT, (that is old news with no value)
but more like a right of passage, meaning as you mentioned, that is an atendance marker, stating that you where there on the planetary calls.
with catalitics and tools like this, it is not that hard nowadays i belive to make a tool, to cheack, who atended the call, and what POAP has been transfered from minting addres.

they could have minted NFTs with the QR code as the ticket to catstambul,
but they did it with a normal QR code,

Wouldn’t adding an nft function to the Jupiter wallet allow the devs to EASILY determine who was airdropped an nft versus any other way, im not familiar with the acronym POAP ,but ive proposed the idea of an nft capability as it is the ONLY thing that makes me jump out of the wallet into Magic Eden; whether it was the plan or not…hire the people required to run the nft element because we are DEF losing an edge there, just saying it would be wise. Im cool using multiple wallets, i personally have over 50 key phrases saved on paper in various places, i dont know if even i could find them all, (jk):wink::heart_hands:Happy New Week Jupiverse fam :cat2::goat:

You can easily check your correct, BUT idk how time consuming that is ,unless they had software to automate that would be cool, but again…adding nft capability directly in the Jupiter wallet; then for sure (and very simply), they coukd differentiate, really whatever they wanted
