What will Jupiter wallet bring that’s different than all these other wallets?
Such as backpack, Phantom, Solflare, MetaMask for ETH, Xverse for runes on BTC, Enjin, etc.
Here’s some insight with my struggle……
I’m a mobile friendly user because its fast and easy. I dont think I can daily use with out it.
With bridging assets & all these chain integrations happening. My biggest PROBLEM!! is a mobile wallet that needs to function for everything. A one for all and all for one kinda deal. It’s hard bridging if I can’t accept a transaction and connect multiple wallets. Only on a computer all my wallets can be open at once. Other than that it’s near impossible on a single mobile device.
What I’ve noticed over the past few months Jupiter exchange has been hard at work and is one step ahead of all the other competitors. Some of these features in the background are big leaps in the space. while we as Catdet’s:black_cat: still function normally without seeing any change.
My question is will we have a wallet that can act as a Planet Of Wallets P.O.W and have all the features we need so we don’t ever have to leave J.U.P .
I think a Jup wallet would be cool, also provide more REV for Jup as a product and brand and thus boosting its potential.
We saw how mad lads pumped simply from the addition of Back pack wallet.
Ive asked people before, but ive always wondered where phantoms rev comes from in their wallet given its free to use. The answer i got was from their built in swap function. It makes me wonder, will Jup make extra rev from this or perhaps just greater volume on site due to accessibility.
I love this. I’ve been thinking this same thing for a while now. I just figured, not alot can beat phantom. I use Solaflair too but not that much Phantom supports btc and eth it makes it so you don’t have to be going back and forth etc…
But if the jup wallet had all of those features plus it’s a nice, fast, smooth wallet for all catdets I’m all in.
What if jup happened to partner up with phantom Im to make a wallet. I know phantom tries to incorporate jup as much as possible but if it were a collaboration on project between the 2 it would turn into something interesting and very sophisticated Great thinking:
The bridging UX is definitely not very good, especially when you have to connect multiple wallets but in app browsers in mobile wallets only support 1 wallet connection — this is a difficult problem to solve and we’ll continue to innovate with Bridge teams.
Speaking of “Jupiter Wallet App”, have you tried Ape.jup.ag? We’re experimenting with a vault method (like a mini wallet owned by your original address) to allow you to buy and sell faster without the need to sign transactions for each action.
Interesting, i didnt even realise there was a jup wallet coming. As an older gentleman in the space, my main priority is ease of use and safety, get those sorted and you’ll have a winner onboarding us oldies. Good luck
Personally i did everything ona phone alone, just old and not a fan of computers unless they can be a dictionary and fit in pocket. so i learned and DCA’d about a yr. then bull run, then damaged my phone and realized i didnt know what a seed phrase was because i was only using C EX’s intil december. I had a coinbase wallet( hell no) and really sidnt want anything to do with web3, but was jup & juicing with a phantom, so i de-filed my portfolio. that naughty bitch. any ways when i did grab a laptop it was the backing up and transferring that was a giant pain. mac over PC maybe? mac over dr. ? CEX’s are criminal AF, they just have a better plan and lawyers. U wanna change the world, find coinbases dirty money, then its really bottomless. i have to go feed the hippopotamus
I was actually just going through all the new additions to the Jupiter and I definitely like ape. I don’t know if I would use it that often as per the exchange, perpetual trading etc on the main page. It’s great to be able to have that option to ape meme coins in a safe manner and I actually should get used to the platform better now that I’m thinking about it.
In the jungle, there’s a hippopotamus,
Dreaming big, feeling quite autonomous.
He heard about crypto, a digital delight,
Decided to invest, under the moonlight.
With a splash and a dash, he bought some JUP coin, Hoping his fortune would soon rejoin.
Now he’s the richest hippo in the land,
Thanks to his JUP, he’s feeling grand!
This all-in-one non-custodial wallet solution is something Fireblocks is working on: Main Capabilities
Unfortunately, they do not support solana (yet) but would be great to use infra like this to support end users holding multiple assets across different chains. Similar to Phantom with Bitcoin/Solana but across multiple networks.
While a JUP wallet would be nice for brand value, I think to some extent it would also pose a risk.
I mean if you have been on Algorand you might now the debacle that was the MyAlgo wallet. Basically facilitating a wallet comes at risk of immense brand damage, if something goes wrong.
IMO better to not have JUP wallet but instead collaborate deeper with Phantom wallet and get JUP positioned with them in slightly better standing or promotional…
I think JUP can benefit on the back of Phantom much more than it could by introducing a own wallet… maybe?
All in for it but just wondering if we get to a point where we have separate wallets for every project. Not an expert on this but my thinking is that, it might be beneficial if projects on Solana can consolidate under a multi-chain wallet with proven security of some sort so that things just become less complicated.
Traditional wallets are specialised for a single blockchain, offering simplicity and focus but requiring multiple wallets for multi-asset users. While multi-chain wallets provide a versatile, all-in-one solution for managing a wide range of cryptocurrencies across different blockchains, enhancing convenience, but with added complexity in managing security across diverse ecosystems. If the security issue around multi-chain assets can be resolved or reduced significantly across the board, I feel it will be helpful for all. Hoping that projects can work together to build or support any multi-chain wallet in every ecosystem to reach this goal.
Phantom also has fees on internal swap, and some pipeline if you purchase crypto via recommendation, a bit like having inbuilt affiliate referral system.
But over all Phantom is reeeeeaally hard to beat in terms of competition, as they have so much marketshare, that they can sustain features with API calls that others can not. The system to identify fraudulent sites and bad NFTs, likely has a baseline cost of over 5k a month.
They charge so little fees but are used by so many that it is worth for them. Also the guarding system to avoid man in the middle attacks and such things, I find it hard to believe that JUP wallet could conquer such a giant, I mean the self-marketing Phantom has and collab with Solana Foundation is not joke.
Like over all MetaMask, Phantom, Exodus and to some degree even Trustwallet (which I do not like) are giants in the scene, hard to believe that anyone can conquer them let alone dethrone them.
Id use it over Phantom if JUP wallet didn’t charge a fee and prioritised a wallet that was UI friendly towards bridging to different chains as i support an omnichain future
