FatCat Vote - Now in Beta Testing!

jm cats!

Excited to introduce FatCat - a solution we built to enhance and simplify Jupiter governance participation for our community.

What is FatCat?

FatCat is a web application that streamlines participation in Jupiter’s Governance by automating the voting process. It creates a GLAM Vault for you and allows you to delegate your voting authority to the FatCat service, making governance participation effortless.

How does FatCat work?

FatCat works in three simple steps:

  1. It helps you create a GLAM Vault for your JUP tokens
  2. You delegate your voting authority to the FatCat service
  3. FatCat will automatically participate in governance votes on your behalf

Importantly, if you choose to vote directly on a proposal, FatCat will respect your vote and will not override it.

What are the benefits of using FatCat?

  • Ensures you never miss participating in Jupiter Governance votes
  • Increases overall governance participation
  • Saves you time by automating the voting process
  • Perfect for JUP holders who want to participate in governance but may not have the time to actively monitor and vote on all proposals
  • No more missed ASR rewards due to forgotten votes!
  • Makes the governance experience smoother and more rewarding

Join our Beta Testing!

We’re opening access to our beta first to our core community members. We would love to hear your thoughts and feedback as we refine the platform.

Become a Representative!

We believe in a diverse ecosystem of voting delegates. If you’re interested in becoming a representative and starting your own voting delegation service, please reach out to us! We’re happy to share our experiences and support others in enhancing Jupiter’s governance ecosystem.

Ready to join?

Join the beta today and put your JUP governance votes on autopilot. Simple as that. Set your preferences once, and you’re done - your votes will be counted and rewards will keep flowing!

I’m a bit worried about this concept - it seems like a major centralization vector for votes and creates many more low info voters. How are voting decisions being decided?

Voting is remarkable, and the process is fascinating to follow and be a part of. I find it especially valuable when the results align with our expectations. If they don’t, we can review the outcomes to understand what will happen with the final results. This helps us gauge the ecosystem. It’s my personal daily homework, my best way to grow together.

For this reason, I prefer to exercise my vote directly and personally, without delegating. This is my way of remaining decentralized. I believe it will be helpful for many, and I applaud its creators. Best regards.

Interesting idea.
Here are my concerns:

  • Centralization risks (FatCat Service has more and more JUP and can manipulate decissions)
  • Smart contract risks (code is open source but there is still a trust issue because users have to trust their funds to a 3rd party)
  • Goes to a direction where the DAO aspect weakens. The idea of a DAO is that users get informed about proposals and vote after get informed.
  • Voting for ASR rewards is in general not good. Ofc many people do that but the general idea is to motivate people to vote and take decissions not vote for rewards without knowing what is happening

Technological Idea :white_check_mark:
Ethical / DAO: :cross_mark:

Thats my take

good view, interesting how do you exposes…

We understand your concerns, but FatCat is not aiming to be the only cat in town. Someone just needed to be first.

We post our intended votes on X ahead of time, and users can always override with their own choices. The automation simply ensures votes aren’t forgotten or missed when users are traveling or busy - you always remain in control of your vote.

Our code is openly available under Business Source License at GitHub - glamsystems/jupiter-vote-service: Jupiter DAO Representative Automation for transparency and would love to see other engaged community members become representatives and run their own delegation service.

Your approach to voting as “daily homework” is fantastic! It’s exactly this kind of active participation that helps our ecosystem thrive.

FatCat offers automated delegation for those who can’t always maintain that level of involvement or during those unavoidable moments when direct participation might be missed.

A healthy governance ecosystem benefits from both approaches - direct engagement and representative voting working together to strengthen participation.

Thanks for your thoughtful concerns! A few clarifications:

  • On centralization: Users always retain control to override any FatCat vote - it’s just another interface. We’ve open-sourced our code specifically to encourage others to become representatives, creating a diverse ecosystem similar to democratic systems. We don’t want to be the only option!

  • On smart contract risks: That’s certainly a valid concern, especially before we conclude a first audit. FatCat aims to be as non-custodial as possible by using account abstraction via GLAM Vaults. You retain full control of your assets - we never take custody of your tokens - all you do is delegate the permission to cast a vote.

  • On DAO aspects: In the latest vote approximately 20% did not participate and another 10% abstained. Ultimately, our goal is to expand participation while still encouraging users to stay informed and override votes whenever they wish.

  • On ASR rewards: We view this as a first step toward greater engagement, not a replacement for informed participation. But we also have to face the reality that many cats care more about the rewards than putting in the work to stay on top of the latest governance matters. In those cases, we believe the DAO would be stronger by having more voting power in the hands of engaged and informed representatives.

you made my day today… thanks! :dizzy: highly appreciate your words, best wishes
