FAQ: Jupiter Community Tag

NOTE: The community tag is set to deprecate within a 2 month period. The Jupiter team is trying to create an organic score and search functionality that can better handle the scaling requirements of a growing Solana ecosystem.

Important Note:

Being on the community list is not an endorsement of a token. Any token listed is not an explicit statement made about the quality or long-term prospects of a token

TOKEN SUBMISSION PROCESS

Q: How do I get my token onto Jupiter at all?
Your token must exist on-chain and have token metadata conforming to the Metaplex Token Metadata.
Your token must have at least $250 liquidity on both buy and sell sides.
The buy and sell price impact shouldn’t be more than 30% as well. This is to prevent single-sided liquidity markets.
Once minimum liquidity is reached, we will automatically list the token within a couple of hours.

Q: How do I apply to get a community Tag?
A: Submit your token with its CA and an attestation tweet from the twitter account here: https://catdetlist.jup.ag/. Please use a tweet from the project’s actual twitter if you can.

There are 2 steps: Initially you need to pass some basic metrics to submit. Then there is an internal review by the catdet council. The general rule of thumb is to remain genuine. Obscuring or artificially bloating metrics whether they be community based or on-chain is considered during the review process.

Q: I’m trying to submit, but the volume metric is under $10k/24 hours even though this is not actually the case. What can be done?
A: Our system fetches data from Birdeye once per day. There is a possibility that the volume is a bit dated. The solution is submitting again in 24 hours.

Q: is the community tag the only way to get verified?
A: No, there are multiple different tags and pathways that feed into the verification system, of which the community tag is just 1.

REVIEW PROCESS

Q: Why wasn’t my token added? You added xyz
A: Not every token makes it onto the list, considering that there are 80,000 tokens per day on Solana. In fact, just because a token is given a tag, it does not mean it is a ‘good token’ nor does it indicate anything about its quality. Not being added could be due to a few reasons such as possible detections of inflated metrics, or even simply that reviewers want more time. It is an imperfect process that is a work-in-progress, and has evolved many times since its inception in response to community feedback and scaling demands. In some instances you may need to submit more than once before it is approved.

And once again, no token added is an endorsement by Jupiter or the DAO. Being verified does not indicate anything about the long term prospects of the token or its quality. Please bear with us as we work to improve the system over time together with the community.

The core purpose of the list, which is elaborated on more below, is to prevent users from buying an unintended token in the case of a duplicate scam.

Q: Does this mean I can get denied if I meet the initial metrics?
A: Yes, that is merely the first round of approval. Submission metrics serve as a minimum threshold for a token to be reviewed, but there are criteria around metric inflation or duplicate checks that are taken into account.

Q: Can I speed up the review process?
A: Tagging council members and spamming with messages does not work to your advantage. It can be rather disadvantageous, as any time a token representative is aggressive towards the council to attempt to expedite the process and discourage due diligence is a red flag.

Q: My token was not approved and fell off the Pending List. What are my options?
A: You may resubmit again at a later date. Although do note: there is a triggered cooldown period of 7 days to prevent spamming. You may also provide additional context or details in token-list-unmonitored in case you feel there is something relevant to add.(e.g. Wonky supply distributions, mint/freeze auth enabled, etc).

Q: Another token applied after me, but was approved first. Why was this?
A: The community tag system is not first come first serve. Some submissions are more obvious and easier to approve, while others may require more consideration.

MISCELLANEOUS

Q: What is the Magic Score column?
A: The Magic Score is an experimental metric. There is no minimum required for it, as tokens have made it on the list with low Magic Scores in the past. No details will be shared about how it is calculated to prevent gaming of the system. Thank you for understanding.

Q: I am unhappy with the process, is it fair?
A: The token list has always been managed free of charge. It is run by Catdet Volunteers with zero vested interest in their decisions other than to create a good community list for the ecosystem. If anyone from the team or Catdets claim they can get you on for a fee, they are likely an imposter trying to scam you. Please let us know and we will investigate. See an example of an imposter here: x.com

Q: Are there any exemptions possible for minimum metrics?
A: If you are a notable pre-launch token, A Jupiter launch partner, or a token associated with a notable platform or protocol on Solana, then you can provide us with context for a potential exemption. Note: These approvals aren’t common, so please do not spam us with requests for this if you know your token does not fit this description.

Q: My token was bridged through Wormhole. Can I get on the list?
A: We only consider the Solana side of the contract. If your token meets the minimum requirements to submit on Solana, then you are free to do so.

Q: My token has a name like ETH, BTC, etc. Why am I not getting approved for the list?
A: Tokens will not be validated if they too closely resemble or are identical to known popular tokens(e.g SOL, BTC,ETH, DOGE).

Q: How do I update my token’s image?
A: We are now reflecting whatever token image is on chain because that is the source of truth. Any logo changes on chain will automatically be picked up and reflected. We used to allow logo overwrites on our end, but are no longer able to support that because it’s unsafe and very manual

Q: What was the original goal of the strictlist?
A: In the land of crypto, there is a common scamming technique for scammers to spin up fake tokens that mirror one’s people intend to trade in an attempt to confuse and mislead people. The original goal of the strictlist was to solve this issue. In some instances there are 2 ‘legitimate’ token communities that spun up concurrently by happenstance. These situations are rare but are more difficult to parse through.

As always, trading any token whether verified or not carries its own set of risks and should be done at your own discretion.
